Breakfast is served
buffet style from 6:30-10:30 AM at
Fare Nui Restaurant. You are seated, asked for your room number, and what you'd like to drink-coffee, tea, hot chocolate. There is seating outside as well as inside. We arrive at 7:15 AM and choose coffee to drink. The amount and variety of items in the breakfast buffet is mind blowing. Juices, cereals, breads, pastries, fruit, meats, cheeses, dried fruit, and much more. There is an egg station so you can have omelets made to order, eggs over easy...... I'm not a big breakfast person but I get a 2 egg omelet with ham, tomatoes, peppers, and cheese. I opted not to include mushrooms and/or onions. I love fruit so I select 1 piece each-cantaloupe, watermelon, and pineapple. Juice-pineapple. A piece of banana bread, 2 mini fruit filled pastries. Richard gets fruit, cheese, meats. He likes European style breakfast while I prefer American version. We signed for breakfast. Fortunately breakfast is included in our package with Tahiti.com. If you had to pay for the buffet it would cost 4420 XPF per person. I believe you can also order a la carte if buffet is not for you. I had brought an insulated travel mug that I fill with pineapple juice for later. Richard heads back to the bungalow to get his diving gear as I have scheduled a 2 tank dive today-again with
Moorea Fun Dive. www.moorea-fundive.com His pick up time is 8:25 AM. Cost 125000 XPF. Today he will pay for yesterday's dive as well as today's.

While waiting for Richard in the lobby I take some pictures as it's just so pretty. There is a small store off the lobby that sells postcards, clothing, all sorts of souvenirs, sunscreen, etc. Also a Robert Wan store for Tahitian pearls.

There are lots of vehicles picking up people for excursions.I talk with a guy who turns out to be the Albert of Albert Tours and Albert Transportation-to name just a few. He's into everything. A real entrepreneur.
Moorea Fun Dive picks up Richard at 8:25 AM. I wave him off wishing him good dives. I write out the postcards I had bought and drop them off in reception to be mailed. Concierge says it's too early to be able to confirm dinner for tonight so I'll check back later.

Off we go! |
I spend most of the day at the
beach. It's hot and sunny. Here we get
1 hour of free kayaking and
SUP/stand up paddle board. There's also jet skis, parasailing and other activities for additional cost. Early afternoon Richard is back from his dives. Sites-Lemon Shark Valley and Virgule. He saw blue tangs, trigger fish, long nose butterfly fish, turtles, black tip sharks; lemon sharks, lion fish, green sea turtles, surgeon fish, parrot fish, butterfly fish. Cost for the 2 days-3 tanks diving is 20000 XPF/$198.28 He said a group picture was taken and it's supposed to be e-mailed to us. The rest of the afternoon until about 4:00 PM we spend on the
beach. Back in our bungalow I call the concierge who confirms pick up at 7:00 PM for
Le Lezard. We hand wash a few things using a packet of the travel size TIDE detergent I packed. I download pictures from the dive camera and from the trip so far.

Dinner-
Le Lezard Jaune. Pick up 7:00 PM. There is another couple from our hotel going with us. This place has table and booth seating and is busy. Known for its skewers. Drinks-Hinano amber for Richard and a Mai Tai for me. Appetizer to share per recommendation of our server-Tahitian poisson cru which comes with Jasmine rice. For our main we decide on skewers-swordfish and a combo chicken/spicy chorizo. For our side we each opt for the local salad of greens, tomatoes, cucumbers. The presentation of the skewers is neat. One skewer has pieces of the swordfish and one has pieces of chicken and chorizo. Then we have 2 skewers-each with pineapple, tomato, onion, pepper. Very tasty. Dessert-room for 1 scoop ice cream. Richard-rum raisin and hazelnut for me. Yum! Cost without tip 9390XPF/$93.09. Credit cards accepted. Service was slow but otherwise another enjoyable dinner experience. Back to our bungalow by 9:30. I take one of my pain pills as my back is sore. Another early to bed night.
